Hemorrhoids are not the most pleasurable condition that you can have in the world. In fact, it is a downright uncomfortable and painful condition. Thankfully, hemorrhoids are actually quite easy to keep under control. Now, there are a number of different ways in which you can go about this. However, it is worth noting that this is not a diet plan as such. You will not be losing weight. Instead you will be doing your best to ensure that the problems don’t appear, and if they do you will be trying your best to get rid of them as quickly as possible. Let’s take a little look, shall we?
The Best Foods to Eat for Hemorrhoids
Perhaps one of your main goals when constructing a hemorrhoids diet plan is to boost the amount of fiber in your diet. As you may know, fiber is the key to a healthy digestive system. The vast majority of us do not consume anywhere near enough though. Not consuming enough fiber will toughen up your stool and make it VERY hard to pass. This will then put a LOT of strain on your anus and this is what leads to the hemorrhoids. In short; it has to be avoided. Now, there are a number of ways in which you can get more fiber into your diet.
Any food which is high in grains will also be packed to the brim with fiber. Many fruits and vegetables should also ensure that you get enough into your diet. It is worth noting that you should NOT consume too much fiber. This can actually cause a lot of problems and soften up your stool to the point where it actually is harder to pass. Just a couple of portions of fiber a day should be more than enough. If you are still finding it slightly difficult to pass still then you should up the amount that you are consuming.
In addition to this you are going to want to ensure that you get an adequate amount of water. This will assist the fiber in your digestive system. I suggest at least eight glasses of water a day. Do make sure this is pure water. It is important that you avoid drinks which will dehydrate you. This includes coffee and alcohol. Most fruit juices should be enough to deal with your hemorrhoids too. Remember, these fruit juices are also going to be quite high in fiber.
You will also want to ensure that you get a LOT of Omega-3 into your body. This will work wonders for your system as it can help reduce inflammation. Perhaps the best way in which to get more Omega-3 into your body is to consume at least two portions of oily fish a week. If you can’t do this then eating more nuts will also help. You will also find Omega-3 content in a number of different oils. If you take just one piece of advice from this page it is to consume as much Omega-3 as possible Trust me, it is going to work wonders on your system. I suggest at least looking into Tuna because this is high in Omega-3 which can actually reduce the inflammation that occurs when you are dealing with hemorrhoids symptoms.
Foods High in Iron
If you are currently treating hemorrhoids then it is important that you look into foods which are high in iron. There are plenty of different foods that you can eat here. Most livers, particularly chicken liver, are going to be fantastic for this. For vegetarians, and those who can’t stomach liver, you may want to look into eating nuts, particularly pistachio nuts, prunes, sunflower seeds, or even dried apricots. Potato is also fantastic for this.
There are a few herbs that I suggest that you add to your diet too. This is Ginger, Garlic, and Onion. Each of these will contain something known as Fibrin. This helps to repair damaged tissue and blood vessels. Obviously your body is currently going through a lot of tissue damage and this is going to be ideal. Do not consume too much of it though, this can actually make the problem a lot worse.
What Foods to Avoid With Hemorrhoids Diet Plan
It is important that you avoid foods which can increase inflammation in the body. Perhaps the most common of these actually being dairy (which is going to cause a number of problems anyway as dairy can lead to constipation). This means that you will have to avoid milk, cheese, and cream. If you still need this stuff then opt for the lactose free alternatives.
It is also important that you avoid the products that have been stripped of their grains. This means pretty much any product which uses refined grains including; white rice, white bread, pie crusts etc.
On top of all of this you should avoid spicy foods. These are going to ‘burn’ on the way out, and that certainly is not going to be pleasurable when you are dealing with hemorrhoids. If you are prone to hemorrhoids anyway then I do suggest that you give spicy foods a wide berth because they are never going to be that good for you.
Remember; whilst the hemorrhoids diet plan is the BEST way in which to keep those hemorrhoids at bay, it is not the only thing that you can do.
