Hemorrhoids are, as you most likely know, an incredibly painful condition. Even in their mildest form, they can cause complete havoc in your day-to-day life. Now, there are a number of ways in which you can reduce the amount of pain associated with hemorrhoids. Perhaps one of the best, and simplest, methods, however, is through a good bit of exercise. Mild Cardiovascular Exercise
This is something like walking, jogging, or swimming. You do not want to do anything too strenuous here as that can make the problem a bit worse. The idea of mild cardiovascular exercise is to get the blood pumping around your system. It will boost circulation and this should hopefully stop blood clots forming in the hemorrhoids which will greatly reduce the pain. It is, however, important that you do not walk or run for more than twenty minutes at a time. You will be putting too much strain on the hemorrhoids if you do. This will lead to increased pain and a slower speed of healing.
Many hemorrhoids sufferers claim that kegels are a brilliant way to deal with the pain. This exercise is actually incredibly easy to perform. All you need to do is the following:
- Contract your anal muscle for three seconds.
- Repeat five times.
- Rest for about thirty seconds
- Repeat these three steps three more times.
This will help to boost the strength of your anal muscles which will in turn lead to a reduction in the size of your hemorrhoids. Regular hemorrhoid sufferers may actually find that this exercise works even when their hemorrhoids are not swollen up. It will, hopefully, reduce any flare-ups going into the future.
Yoga actions which focus on your abdomen and thighs are well-known for helping with hemorrhoids. There are a few different poses that you can try out. I won’t bore you with them here. It is suggested that you watch a video because if you get these motions wrong they are not going to have that much benefit on your hemorrhoids. It won’t necessarily cause any damage, but it really is going to be pointless performing the action.
Muscle Toning Exercises
You can aim for exercises which look to deal with your rectal muscles e.g. buttock presses. This just involves squeezing your buttocks together for quick bursts of time, much like the kegels previously. You will be surprised at how much this tone up the muscles whilst at the same time reducing the chance of hemorrhoids occurring.
Remember, this is just a very quick introduction to the world of exercises for hemorrhoids. If you are overweight, you could perform just about any exercise you want, whether it is on this list or not. It is no secret that those who are overweight tend to be at a greater risk of hemorrhoids and exercising, and eating correctly for that matter, will help to shed most of it.
